Terms of Use
Effective date: August 3, 2026 · Your Squad LLC (Connecticut, USA) · hello@your-squad-app.com
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Squad mobile application and website (the "Service"), operated by Your Squad LLC ("Squad," "we," "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. What Squad is — and is not
Squad is a coordination tool. It lets a parent ("Squad Leader") post jobs — such as rides, babysitting, errands, household chores, and pet care — to a roster of helpers ("Squad Members") that the Leader personally invites and approves.
- Squad is not an employer, staffing agency, childcare provider, transportation service, or marketplace of vetted workers. Members are not employees, agents, or contractors of Squad.
- Squad does not conduct background checks, identity verification, driving-record checks, or any other vetting of any user. Leaders choose, invite, approve, and supervise their own helpers, and are solely responsible for deciding who joins their Squad and accepts their jobs.
- All arrangements — including scheduling, supervision, and payment — are made directly between users. Squad does not process, hold, or guarantee any payment between users.
2. Eligibility and accounts
- Squad Leaders must be at least 18 years old. Squad Members must be at least 13 years old and confirm this at signup; Members under 18 should use Squad with the knowledge and permission of their own parent or guardian.
- Child accounts are created and controlled by a parent, provide a read-only view of an assigned driver, and are used with the parent's consent.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your credentials secure. You may not impersonate others or create accounts for anyone without authorization.
3. Subscription
- Posting jobs requires a Squad Leader subscription: $6.99 per month after a 1-month free trial, billed through your Apple ID. Prices may change prospectively with notice through the App Store.
- The subscription auto-renews monthly unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can cancel anytime in your Apple ID subscription settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period. Payments are processed by Apple and refunds are governed by Apple's policies.
- If your subscription ends or lapses, your account, Squad, and history are preserved; you may not post new jobs until you resubscribe. Members never pay to use Squad.
- Free or discounted access (for example, founding-family access or promotional codes) is provided at our discretion and may be modified prospectively.
4. Your responsibilities and acceptable use
- Leaders are solely responsible for evaluating, selecting, and supervising the Members they approve, and for all decisions about their children's care and transportation. We encourage Leaders to meet or speak with any new helper before their first job.
- Members are solely responsible for performing jobs they accept safely, lawfully, and as agreed — including holding any required license and insurance for driving.
- You agree not to use the Service for any unlawful purpose; to harass, endanger, or defraud others; to post false information; to attempt to access others' data; or to interfere with the Service's operation.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe create risk for other users.
5. Assumption of risk
You understand that arranging care, transportation, and household help involves inherent risks, and that Squad has no control over and does not supervise any user or job. You use the Service, and enter arrangements with other users, at your own risk and based on your own judgment.
6. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation. Squad makes no representation about the suitability, reliability, or safety of any user.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Your Squad LLC and its owners, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss, injury, or damage arising from or relating to arrangements between users or the acts or omissions of any user. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amounts you paid to Squad in the twelve months before the claim arose.
8. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Your Squad LLC from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service, your arrangements with other users, or your violation of these Terms.
9. Content and intellectual property
You retain rights to content you submit (such as photos and notes) and grant us a limited license to use it to operate the Service. The Squad name, logo, and app are our property and may not be used without permission.
10. Changes to the Service and these Terms
We may modify the Service and these Terms. Material changes will be posted with a new effective date and, where appropriate, notified in the app. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
11. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. [ATTORNEY TO ADVISE: venue.]
CLASS ACTION WAIVER. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, you and Your Squad LLC each agree that any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be brought solely in an individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff, claimant, or class member in any purported class, collective, consolidated, or representative proceeding. The court may not consolidate or join the claims of more than one person, and may not otherwise preside over any form of consolidated, representative, or class proceeding.
If any portion of this class action waiver is found to be unenforceable or unlawful as to a particular claim or request for relief, that claim or request for relief will proceed in court severed from this section, and the remainder of this section will continue to apply to all other claims and requests for relief. Nothing in this section waives any right that cannot be waived under applicable law.
